How did it go?
Sam Usher delighted children and their teachers at the beautiful New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth. He started the show by asking children to shout out the main characteristics of an elephant and then drew the funniest elephant we had ever seen! Children were thrilled when this very same elephant appeared, life size, on stage at the end of the show! Sam did lots of live drawing and painting for the children, introducing them to the tools of his trade and showing them the magic they can create. He read his stories Zoom and also Clang and the children looked at the illustrations on the large screen as they listened to the stories. And let's not forget the joy that Steve the frog brought to the show. Steve had stowed away in Sam's suitcase and made many impromptu appearances throughout the performance!
