Mariesa Dulak Workshop
The Children’s Bookshow allocates four free workshops for schools who attend a related theatre performance.

Children will love working creatively with Mariesa Dulak in their classroom. The session will start with a rhyming exercise where Mariesa will guide the class in creating an animal poem together, then there will be time to make a crown and colour it in!

The children got their books today - they were so excited, we put in the book plates that you gave us, the children even took the books outside during playtime today to share the poems with their friends!!

Materials needed
- Flipchart or whiteboard
- Pens and paper for the children
- Colouring pencils and crayons
- Scissors for the children
- A few staplers and an adult to help with them!

About Mariesa Dulak
Mariesa Dulak was born in Yorkshire of dual heritage (Barbadian/White British). She did a degree in English literature, an MA in Children's Literature and a career in publishing followed. She now writes picture books about identity and family life. She is also a primary school librarian and lives with her family in West London.
On the day
- Please inform your school receptionist that our artist will be arriving so they can be welcomed warmly.
- A teacher must be present throughout the workshop.
- Make sure that all the materials that our artist has requested are ready and available.
- Please let us know if any of the children have particular requirements, and ensure that their normal carer is present.
- The offer of a cup of tea is often greatly appreciated!
