Ele Fountain Workshop
The Children’s Bookshow allocates four free workshops for schools who attend a related theatre performance.
Ele Fountain is extremely experienced at working with children in schools. This creative writing workshop will be fun and interactive and will be a great opportunity for children to practise their own story-writing skills with a real author in their classroom.

Year 6 children were ecstatic to welcome Ele Fountain to their classroom and have her share her writing process. Not only do they love Ele's books, but they are buzzing about the stories they created in her workshop.

Materials needed
- Flipchart or whiteboard
- Pens and paper for the children
- Powerpoint presentation which will be sent to you, ready on the whiteboard

About Ele Fountain
Ele Fountain is an award-winning writer of contemporary fiction with recurring themes of family, identity and hope. Before writing, Ele worked as an editor in children’s publishing where she was responsible for launching and nurturing the careers of many prize-winning and bestselling authors. She speaks regularly at schools and literary festivals. Ele lives in Hampshire with her husband, daughters, lots of spiders and a stripy ginger cat that thinks he is a tiger.
On the day
- Please inform your school receptionist that our artist will be arriving so they can be welcomed warmly.
- A teacher must be present throughout the workshop.
- Make sure that all the materials that our artist has requested are ready and available.
- Please let us know if any of the children have particular requirements, and ensure that their normal carer is present.
- The offer of a cup of tea is often greatly appreciated!
