Kwame Alexander's live digital performance

How did it go?

Our afternoon event on the first day of The Children's Bookshow Digital Festival was with the awesome American writer, Kwame Alexander who joined us from London where he's currently based. A baseball-capped Kwame, against a backdrop of images of American icons, blasted onto our screens with an infectious energy. He talked of his love of words and writing growing up and how he overcame repeated rejection before becoming the successful published writer he is today. It was powerful and moving to hear a reading of The Undefeated by the man himself. Kwame answered oodles of questions from children and teachers as well as posing some of his own and left us feeling inspired and ready to start writing.
