‘An Evening In’ with Just Imagine and The Children’s Bookshow
Have you ever wondered how The Children’s Bookshow works, behind the scenes? Join us for an online event with Just Imagine and Director of The Children’s Bookshow, Kate Arafa to find out more about the work we do, why we do it, and how you can get involved!
Just Imagine is a consultancy that works with schools to develop outstanding reading and writing, where stories and literature are placed firmly at the heart of learning. Their programme of regular online events features authors, illustrators and children’s book industry figures.
We are really excited to have been invited for a conversation all about The Children’s Bookshow, hosted by Just Imagine Managing Director, Nikki Gamble.
Ele Fountain, award-winning author of books including Melt, Fake and Wild, will also be joining us, to share her experiences of working with The Children’s Bookshow - most recently on our autumn tour, in a brilliant live event at Ipswich New Wolsey Theatre.
Together with Ele Fountain and Nikki Gamble, Kate Arafa, Director of The Children’s Bookshow will discuss and explore the ways live events make a difference for authors, as well as the incredible impact they can have on young readers.
Kate will share some highlights from our recent tour, as well as some insights into how we decide which authors and books to work with, and some of the realities of staging large scale events with lots of small children!
The event will take place online on Thursday 28 November at 7pm GMT. It is free to attend and is open to teachers, librarians, publishers and all adults who create, read, review or enjoy children’s books.
