A round-up of our theatre tour 2024

Our autumn 2024 tour has finished! In our mission to bring the joy of books and reading to children across the country our artists have performed to over 7,500 children in 14 theatres and run 54 creative workshops in schools.

Every child that took part received a free copy of the author's book to take home and keep - that's 7,662 free books!

If you missed out autumn programme this year you can read what happened at each show and see photos of the performances OR you can read your way through the tour with our 2024 reading list. People often ask us how we decide which authors and books to feature in The Children’s Bookshow tour. The answer is quite simple: we do lots and lots of reading to find the best books for children!

This list has some brilliant recommendations, from beautiful picture books to share with the youngest readers, to thought-provoking novels tackling bigger issues. Find out how we chose the books we gave away this year, why we love them, and why you will too.
