Competition 2025

The Children's Bookshow is running a competition for the chance to win a trip to London to visit the British Library.

The winner and his/her parents will be met at the British Library (96 Euston Road, London NW1 2DB) and introduced to writer Mariesa Dulak, author of There’s a Tiger on The Train. They will then be taken around the library and shown how this amazing institution works and what it has to offer, followed by lunch in the British Library café.

In addition to this trip, the winner will also receive a copy of a book from each of the writers and illustrators in The Children's Bookshow autumn programme! There will also be £200 of free books for the school library of the winning child.

The prize is for two adults and one child sharing a hotel room for one night on a bed and breakfast basis and return train travel to London.

We'll also give £200 of free books to the school library of the winning child.

Six runners up will each win a copy of There's a Tiger on the Train written by Mariesa Dulak and illustrated by Rebecca Cobb.

More about Rebecca Cobb

What do I have to do?

We would like you to draw a tiger: you can make your picture with crayons, coloured pencils, felt tips, paints or even collage, and then write a sentence about it.

You could say where tigers live, what they eat, how long they live and whatever else you might be able to find out about them and add that to your entry.

Think hard about all the possibilities and then draw your picture, caption it and send it to us. Rebecca Cobb will look at your entries and choose the winner and six runners-up.
