Michael Rosen's Margate performance

How did it go?

We had two weeks off for half term, but our first event after the break was worth the wait! Michael Rosen performed two sell-out shows at the gorgeous Theatre Royal in Margate. The atmosphere was electric and the audience in stitches as Michael talked about his writing, his family, and performed his poems. "No Breathing" was a highlight - over 400 children knew every word. Our partners Give A Book came to the morning show, and we gave every child in the audience a free copy of Michael Rosen's Big Book of Bad Things. It was brilliant to see so many children leaving the theatre clutching their books with big grins on their faces.

Michael Rosen

Michael Rosen wrote his first poems when he was twelve, and he has been writing ever since. He loves words, and especially loves talking to children and adults about how we can play with them. He has written many poetry collections and books for children and adults alike.

One of our most popular writers - the champion for every bored, overdrilled, tested-to-tears pupil in the land
