Judith Kerr

The Children's Bookshow was so sorry to hear that the wonderful and indomitable Judith Kerr had died at the age of 95 at the end of May. We have been reminiscing about our last event with Judith and the late John Burningham, another titan of children's book illustration, at The Old Vic in London in 2017. This event, expertly chaired by Nicolette Jones, Sunday Times Children's Books Editor, and attended by 949 children and their teachers was a moment in history, a last chance to see two of the greatest picture book creators on stage together telling their fascinating stories about their working lives and how they create.
