Job description: Sales and Events Organiser

We are looking for a confident, self-motivated, organised individual to help with promotional sales work and event organisation. The applicant will work mainly from home and will need to have access to their own computer, printer and telephone. The work will entail contacting teachers in primary schools by phone and email to sell seats for our events, as well as associated administrative work involving logging details of the bookings in a database, and sending out confirmation booking forms to participating teachers.

The applicant will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the event, by liaising directly with front of house and technical departments at each theatre. The applicant will be the main point of contact for teachers and schools coming to our events and will be expected to be a polite, efficient and engaged representative of our organisation, both by email prior to, and in person, on the day of the event.

The majority of the work will take place between April and November during term time.

24 days @ £150 per day pro rata

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, with supporting documentation, willing to work flexibly in accordance with the demands of the organisation, available to attend a weekly Zoom meeting and have the following skills:

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Skilful proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines
Experience with social media is desirable but not essential
Applicants should be confident, positive, have a love of children’s literature and be capable of interesting teachers in the performances by telephone.
An attention to detail and excellent organisation are essential.
